DAY 8: Ihwa (Ewha)

Yay for the weekend! As we did the day before, we slept in and had a lazy Saturday, so I didn't get to do much in the day. However, Kelly and I decided to head to the Ihwa/Ewha 이화 area for dinner. It's the suburb right beside Sinchon, via the back gate of Ewha Women's University. Ewha is like Sinchon with all the food and clothes, but a lot more cramped. You could probably also get lost in there easily since Ihwa doesn't have a large main street like Sinchon does - it's more of a maze of alleyways. We walked around a little before we shared a hotpot-style dinner - the kind where you order your soup base and add ingredients such as tofu, instant noodles, fishballs, vegetables etc. It was very yummy, but very spicy at the same time.

Before

After - this was only 6500W for the two of us!!

We also managed to have some green tea/red bean bingsoo 빙수 at Homilbat 호밀밭. For those of you who don't know, bingsoo is basically like shaved ice cream, not exactly shaved ice, because it's much creamier and smoother than shaved ice, but very light in texture at the same time. LOVE.

We then walked around the shops for a little, and I managed to get some cute socks (all at 1000W!), some snacks for breakfast, and tiny little yakult drinks (probiotic drink).

The kind of socks available in Korea - taken from 100 Thimbles
