DAY 11: Noryangjin market

We had our first sectional exam and assignment for psychology today!

After psych class ended, I was kindly invited by Richmond, who I met in Korean class previously, to go to Noryangjin market with a bunch of other Singaporeans. It's a market known for selling fresh seafood, which you can then get it prepared and cooked in the small 'restaurants' in the market to eat ASAP. I was also told that we were going to try some live octopus, so I definitely couldn't miss this opportunity!!

We met up after Korean class at around 4-ish pm at the Global House lobby (just a short walk down from I-House) before we set off for Noryangjin station (it's on the subway map). However, after getting off the station, a group of us got a 'little' lost but managed to rejoin the group at the market after a few confused calls and messages.

Since we had a large group, we decided to split into two groups of eight. The people in our group who could speak Korean (Amelia and Kimberley) helped us order, while we just pointed and debated on what kind of seafood we wanted. After getting our seafood, we were led by this older lady towards the back of the market, where we proceeded to place our bags into our chairs (yes, into) while Kimberley helped us tell the lady how we wanted our seafood prepared. In total, we had fresh salmon sashimi, scallops with cheese and garlic, and fresh octopus. The eight people there were Amelia, Kimberley, Ki Yao, Madeline, Genevieve (from Day 7!), Eugene, Richmond and me.

We paid:
65,000W for the seafood
34,000W for the meal
So that ended up being 12,375W per person, or about 15-16AUD.

After our yummy dinner, we headed to Ehwa for bingsoo at Sulbing, which for me, was the first of many more to come!
